7 Different Tips For Your Skin

Most frequent questions and answers about your skin
When making the decision to switch to a more  natural skincare routine, you might be surprised  to hear about all of the benefits of jojoba oil. For starters, it’s non-comedogenic. Which means  that it won’t clog your pores. This is especially good news for those of us with  sensitive skin, the kind that tends to easily break out from the use of facial oil.

And part of your skincare routine is to remove excess dirt and oil from your face, so knowing that a natural oil won’t cause buildup is a major plus. Another benefits of jojoba oil is that structurally speaking, it’s incredibly similar to the natural sebum that your own skin produces. Which is why so many people use it as a daily moisturizer, seeing as how it comes straight from nature. If you’re someone who often wears makeup, then here’s yet another reason to add jojoba oil to your skincare routine: it’s a game-changer when it comes to removing stubborn makeup.

This means that instead of using makeup-removal wipes before you even wash your face, a quick application of jojoba oil will do the trick. And this is also good for the environment, since you won’t be adding those wipes to your garbage or septic system. If those two benefits haven’t convinced you to incorporate jojoba oil into your natural skincare routine, then maybe this will. Jojoba oil is full of natural, anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation of the skin happens when you’ve been outside too long under the sun, perhaps with either very little or no sunscreen, and your skin gets sunburned.

Aloe vera will help, but so will jojoba oil. Or perhaps you’ve been picking at a zit or have a wound on your face that’s become irritated. Try applying a little bit of jojoba oil to see if the natural, anti inflammatory properties help calm your skin down. You can easily find jojoba oil in whole food shops, health stores and even beauty retailers. Look for ones that are 100% and all natural, and test it out on a small part of your skin first.

If you have ever taken a look at all of the bath and body products at your local drugstore, then you’ve probably seen a lot that contain oatmeal. That’s because it’s considered to be nature’s exfoliator. But before you go rubbing some of the quick-cooking oats that you probably have in your pantry all over your body, you should know they are different than what we’re talking about.

Colloidal oatmeal is what the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves as a natural way to treat dry skin. Especially if you have eczema, which is an extreme, medically diagnosed form of dry skin. So if your skin needs a little moisturizing, then keep reading to learn about ways to use colloidal oatmeal as part of your natural skincare routine! If you decide to use freshly ground, colloidal oatmeal, then here’s an idea to use it as an all-over body scrub.

Just mix some up with locally-sourced, organic honey, add some water and then apply it to your clean skin, focusing on areas that are extremely dry such as your elbows and knees. Massage it in for about a minute, and then rinse off with warm water and pat dry. You can use it on your face, too. Apply the same mixture to your freshly-cleansed skin, massaging it for about a minute and then rinse off. If the bottom of your feet, especially your soles, often get dry then this is a great way to soften them up.

Simply use the same mixture while holding it over a foot bath. You can also prepare some ahead of time and put it in a jar, then leave it on your skin. Simply use it as a hand scrub every time you wash up. Soap and water can actually dry out your skin, so use it as often as possible. Of course, there are also many skincare brands out there that use colloidal oatmeal as one of their main ingredients. These are just a few ways to use all-natural, colloidal oatmeal as part of your skincare routine.

We’re constantly hearing about the many benefits of raw, unprocessed honey. But as it turns out, it’s also really good for your skin! There are lots of antibacterial products on the market, and sometimes you need that sort of treatment for your face. But instead of applying something that’s commercially made with added chemicals, try this next time instead.

Thoroughly cleanse the spot on your skin that needs antibacterial treatment, then apply a teaspoon of raw, unprocessed honey to the area and gently massage it into the skin. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Repeat until the infection is gone. The same type of treatment can be used as a face mask, too. After removing all of your makeup, take a teaspoon of honey and gently work it into your face. And don’t worry about it stripping your skin.Honey is very calming, so it won’t hurt your face at all. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water, just like a regular face mask. Raw honey is also anti-inflammatory.

Sometimes our skin needs some cooling down, and when you’re looking to adopt a more natural skincare routine you want to shy away from chemicals. So if an area on your body is irritated and inflamed, simply take a teaspoon of honey and let it sit for 10 minutes or so, just like the other treatments, and then rinse off with warm water. Whenever possible, try to purchase locally-sourced honey. Just make sure that it’s raw and unprocessed, too. If you’re really feeling luxurious, then consider using raw honey as a mask on other parts of your body, too.

Such as your legs, arms, and even your neck. It’s not just our face that needs some love! If you still want to purchase some drugstore products, be sure to look for ones that contain raw honey. There are plenty of brands out there that use this delicious nectar in their products. These are just a few ways to use all-natural, raw honey as part of your skincare routine.

As we get older, we tend to develop more skin problems such as sun spots and large pores. And if you’re looking into a more natural skincare routine, these might be concerns that need to be addressed. The good news is that papaya takes care of multiple skincare needs. This delicious, bright orange fruit is jam-packed with lots of benefits.

By applying papaya as a mask on your face, it actually helps to even out your skin tone. Just think about how good your skin will look without any makeup after a few papaya face masks. The same goes for your pores. While it’s important to steam and clean out your pores from time to time, nobody wants them to be big. That’s why we use products on our face to minimize the appearance of our pores. But a papaya face mask can actually help diminish your pores, which means you may not have to wear as much makeup!

If you’re over the age of 40, then you may very well have some sun spots on your skin too. It’s just part of aging and yes, foundation can cover it. But a papaya face mask can actually get to the source of the problem and get rid of them over time. To try this amazing, all-natural skincare face mask, simply mash about 1/4 of a ripe banana with one tablespoon of organic, raw, all-natural honey and let it sit in the refrigerator for about an hour.

Then apply it to your clean face, relax and let it sit for about 20 minutes, and then rinse off with warm water. To get the most out of this papaya face mask, try doing this once or twice a week and notice the difference over time. Papayas are fairly large fruit too, so you’ll get more than one treatment out of each one. These are just a few ways to use delicious papayas as part of your natural skincare routine. In tomorrow’s email, I’ll discuss the benefits of cucumber as part of your natural skincare routine!

There’s a reason you constantly see people in spa ads with slices of cucumber under their eyes, smiling while they relax in a large towel. This vegetable is truly a gift from Mother Nature to our bodies! In addition to being good for your physical health when consumed, cucumbers are saturated with antioxidants that can do wonders for your skin when applied topically. In some of my previous emails, I’ve mentioned that antioxidants are perfect for reducing skin irritation.

Which is why you should add cucumbers to your natural skincare routine. Simply take a few slices of chilled cucumber and place them on the part of your skin that’s irritated for about 5-10 minutes. It might take a few applications. And of course, please consult your physician for any long-term skin irritation. If you’re one of the millions of people in this world who suffer from allergies, then you should absolutely add cucumbers to your natural skincare routine! With seasonal allergies often comes puffy eyes, and all you need to do is apply a cucumber slice to each of your eyelids and wait about 5-10 minutes. Keep your eyes closed, too.

Then remove the slices and massage any cucumber juice into your skin. Not only will your eyes look more refreshed, but you’ll be amazed at how much better they feel! Another great benefit of cucumbers is that they’re loaded with water, which is perfect for reducing swelling. Some people suffer from swollen ankles, and while water and elevating your feet will often help, it’s also a good idea to apply some chilled cucumber slices to them as well.

Keep them elevated and wait about 5-10 minutes, just like the other home remedies, and then massage any cucumber juice into your ankles. This is especially good if you’re a woman who suffers from water retention during her menstrual cycle. Consider doing it more often during those times of the month, if necessary. These are just a few ways to use refreshing cucumbers as part of your natural skincare routine. In tomorrow’s email, I’ll discuss the benefits of turmeric as part of your natural skincare routine!

So far we’ve discussed the natural, healing benefits of fruits and vegetables for your skin. And now it’s time to spice things up. Literally! Turmeric is a bright orange spice that is often used to flavor foods, but its natural, anti-inflammatory properties can also do wonders for your skin. For example, those who suffer from acne should consider using turmeric as a face mask.

Not only can it help clear up any breakouts you have, but it’s been shown to reduce the appearance of scarring too. The same properties that tackle acne can also reduce the size of your pores! Not only are smaller pores a bit more attractive than large ones, but they won’t be able to hold as much dirt and oil. Which equates to less scrubbing of your face, which is always a good thing as that tugs on your skin! And just like other natural products that I’ve talked about, turmeric can also calm your skin.

For a minor skin irritation, try applying some turmeric powder mixed with warm water and apply for about 10 minutes or so, then rinse off. If you suffer from any of these skincare problems, or even if you just have oily skin that needs some help, then try mixing some turmeric with rose water and apply as a mask. Of course, thoroughly cleanse the area prior to using the mask and be sure to rinse it off well. Any long-term skin concerns should always be addressed by a healthcare provider.

Over the course of time, the more you use turmeric powder as part of your natural skincare routine, the more you will see the benefits. And to make sure that it doesn’t irritate your skin, test out a small patch of skin with some turmeric powder and warm water. If it doesn’t itch or burn, then slowly start using it as a mask. These are just a few ways to use healing turmeric as part of your natural skincare routine.

In today’s final email about natural skincare, we’re going to discuss why integrating pineapple juice, as awkward as it may sound, could give your face an allover glow. First and foremost, however, it’s important to know that pineapple juice is fairly acidic. Please test it out on a small portion of your skin or meet with a healthcare provider first. One of the best things about pineapple juice, aside from tasting so good, is that it’s highly anti-aging.

And you should really start your anti-aging skincare treatment as early as your twenties. If you haven’t and are new to it, no need to worry. Try dabbing a little bit of pineapple juice on a cotton ball and run it over a recently cleansed face. The bromelain, vitamin c and antioxidants will quickly go to work at reducing any fine lines and wrinkles, as well as keep it looking nice and young.

Let it sit for about five minutes and then rinse with warm water. Bromelain is known for its skin-softening properties, and it’s also great for getting rid of swelling. If you have puffy eyes, try applying a little bit of pineapple juice on a q-tip and gently rub it into your under eye sockets. Let it sit for about five minutes and then rinse off. Be sure to be gentle, as the skin under our eyes is very sensitive. And try not to tug too hard on them.

And if you decide to use pineapple juice, be sure that it’s 100% juice and, if possible, certified organic. Pineapple juice is also great for sun-damaged skin. Remember that it is acid though, so be gentle and test it on a very small part of your skin. Try diluting some pineapple juice with some warm water, and then applying it to the sunburn. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and then slowly rinse off. Overall, it’s hard to beat the. Natural healing properties of pineapple juice!
