Implementation of MPLS in context of VPN & TE by using GNS3
As traditional IP routing has a lot of drawbacks, modern ISP’s are shifting their core networks on MPLS. MPLS is a switching base technology, operates at layer 2.5. This technology is based on labels that regulate packet forwarding and data traffic in a complex network. In order to check the communication over a VPN network, this project has implemented or developed MPLS cloud over the VPN. To examine the behavior of the network considering different routing metrics regarding fast rerouting in case of congestion over MPLS links , MPLS traffic engineering (TE) techniques are used in this project. This project has examined the unequal load balancing (As MPLS-TE provides) behavior of traffic engineering (TE) in terms of different selected metrics while deploying the MPLS over VPN.
